FULTON AREA CAREER SYSTEM
LOCATED AT SPOON RIVER COLLEGE
The Fulton Area Career System (FACS) is an "Education for Employment" regional
delivery system which serves seven K-12 public school districts in Fulton
County
to facilitate career and technical education programs in the region.
EFE systems were established by the Illinois State Board of Education in the
early 1980's to provide a liaison between ISBE and local schools for efficient
delivery of career and technical education resources, programs and services.
FACS is one of sixty EFE Systems around the State of Illinois, and is charged
with administering state and federal funds, as well as providing technical
assistance
and coordination of career and technical education programs to member high
schools.
The System office also conducts a number of regional technical education classes
which provides 11th & 12th grade students with opportunities to participate
in programs not offered at the home schools. Additionally, the System
Office serves as a liaison between member schools and the servicing community
college to promote articulation of programs and career development activities.
Technical program areas in the region include: Agriculture, Business Education,
Family and Consumer Science, Health Occupations and Industrial Technology, and Certified Nurse Assistant.
